Cebu Beach Resorts Reviews
I can’t give you my own review because I haven’t gone to one of these resorts yet. This list is based on the majority of reviews from tripadvisor.com and some reputable travel blogs on the Net. You will be the one to check out what suits you best.
1. Alegre Beach Resort
Alegre Beach Resort is located in the North of the Cebu Island, in Calumboyan, Sogod. It’s a bit too far from the Mactan International Airport, about 80 kilometers. Check out this link for your inquiry: Alegre Beach Resort Or you can call this number: +63 32 254 9822. Here is one review from tripadvisor:
“We were very pleased with the accommodations and the amenities overall. The food was a pleasant surprise offering a wide variety but I wouldn’t recommend it for vegetarians as the majority of meals are meat based. The mattresses could be updated as they have been used for a while and a bit lumpy. As well, on the weekends you can hear club music from some bar that echos due to the hills and ocean. Finally, the mosquitoes were quite bad when we stayed from the end of January through the beginning of February, but to be expected with all the rain they had. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The spa was great!”--JoJung of South Korea
2. Shangri-la Mactan Island Resort
Check out this website: Shangri La Resort
The review:
“Fantastic resort with the best snorkeling ive ever done in my life. the beach is so clean and wide and the water is transparent like in a fake photograph. The best thing about the resort is the beach, the food and the employees who are a true reflection of what filipinos are like.Kind and skilled people! The only thing is that the rooms need updating as not really up to Shangri La standards. The other thing is that there are toooo many children!!! 80 % of the population is young couples with babies. I have to say though, they were all well behaved Korean kids and uber cute, so not that bad!
Apart from that, book this place if you want the best views and snorkel whilst having the most gorgeous food at affordable prices.”–Mafs from Ireland
3. Maribago Bluewaters Beach Resort
Website: Maribago Bluewaters
Review:
“We really enjoyed our visit to Blue Water. We had 2 young kids aged 2-4 and we had the grandest time. Our first night was the Primer Deluxe Room. It was a great room with an expansive bathroom. We were at room 101 and it was about 30 feet from the beach. The beach had very clear water and I was able to pick up a star fish and at one point was surrounded 180 degrees by a school of fish, my estimate was about one or two thousand tiny fish. There were also several larger fish, but they would only be in groups of 2-6. We took our family across to the private island owned by Blue Water and enjoyed the privacy of the island. The staff were very attentive and would bring us lounge chairs, blow our kids inflatables, take our photos and even make sure our kids were ok.”–Travelpd01 of Quezon City, Philippines
Website: Plantation Bay
Review:
“It was the first time for my husband and I to visit Mactan Island so we thought an exotic resort like Plantation Bay had to be the place. We booked the Spa room and it definitely exceeded all our expectations. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and welcomed us with sea-shell leis and coconut juice in real fresh coconuts.! The restaurants had great menus to offer not to mention the other amenities like the spa, markets, gift-shops, salon, and water activities. Staying at the Mogambo Springs, we fully enjoyed the use of its 4 spas and the spa treatments. Talk to Colleen and her very professional staff at the MG and they will take excellent care of you.“
5. Cebu White Sands
Website: Cebu White Sands
Review:
“The White Sands Hotel is beautiful. There are 2 nice spacious pools, one small private beach and a lovely spa. Our rooms were spacious and clean although we had some problems with our hot water in the bathroom but the hotel guys fixed it instantly. They use a lot of dark timber for their decor and a nice koi fish pond around the courtyard rooms which is very nice. The hotel staff was friendly and the breakfast was also good. Great location, 15 mins from the airport. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!”

I think these result is based on tourist who come here in Cebu for vacation. Unlike we Cebuano’s and some tourist who already live here. We know other Cebu beach resorts. That there are plenty to choose from that is affordable but equally beautiful. I think this list is made for the tourist not for us.
