Have you been spending most of your time watching Hollywood movies lately? Are you a type of a person who always download movies at Torrentz and rate them in IMDB after watching them? Do you watch all of these from the moment you wake up until you sleep at night?

Well, watching many movies can be good for you, but too much of anything is no good. Unless you’re a movie director or a movie review writer, watching too much movies has the tendency of missing a lot of things in the real world. You tend to be over imagining things in the society.
If you don’t have any idea whether you’re addicted to movies or not, here are 5 signs that I can give you to remind you to slow down at retiring in front of your computer or TV screen:
1. You’re imitating the character of the last movie you watched.
For instance, the last movie you watched was The Godfather. Your try to mimic Marlon Brando as Don Corleone with an immobile jaw, scratching your face with your pinky saying:
“Bonasera… Bonasera…What have I ever done to make you treat me so disrespectfully? Had you come to me in friendship, then this scum that ruined your daughter would be suffering this very day. And that by chance if an honest man such as yourself should make enemies, then they would become my enemies. And then they would fear you.”
Or perhaps Diane Keaton as Kay Adams, with tears in the eyes:
“You are blind Michael. Oh my God, you are blind.”
You keep doing this until you perfect the exact manner how the character said it. People would think you’re a freak if you do this in front of them, regardless whether they’re impressed or not.
2. You’re seeing the real world as in the movies.
Your acting like as if you’re the protagonist of a movie. You apply this in real life like how you talk back to your boss by saying,
“All I’ve got here in this world are my balls and my word.”
You’re imagining that what you are and where you stand are in the movies, and the people around you are the supporting characters.
3. You’re thinking too much
When you notice that you oftentimes sit in one corner and smoke a cigarette, contemplating about your idealisms, your principles, and how you and your ex girlfriend/boyfriend used to go to Fuente Osmena Circle, Manila Ocean Park or People’s Park, holding each other’s hands, then you’re watching too many movies. hehe.
4. You’re putting all the burden on your shoulders
When you think that you’re the most self-righteous person in the world, and that you think you’re not being rewarded, then you’re watching too many movies.
5. You always look at yourself in the mirror and think about who among the actors/actresses that look like you. hehe.
If you’re experiencing even one of the 5 signs above, then you should take a break, and at least watch perhaps one or two movies in a week, then you’re doing okay. Ayt? Hope you learn something from this post. Cheers!
