The Most Beautiful Women of Cebu

The women of Cebu have been known for being among the loveliest women in the Philippines. Probably because of their certain distinct femininity: the way they express amusement to certain humors and the way they talk: the dialect and the pleasing diction they possess.

It’s about the natural beauty combined with characteristic composure and confidence that makes them different from other girls in the country. These obviously not only pertain to their physical attributes but also to their wit and sociability. This is why many of them became great actresses, great singers, beauty queens and models. Perhaps some of them might be familiar to you. But if you really want to know the beautiful Cebuanas who became the icons of the Filipino masses (or let us say the beautiful women of Visayas), here’s a list for you:

• Pilita Corrales

A mestiza Cebuana that you have to adore, metaphorically. Apart from her exceptional beauty, she has a great voice that makes men weak in the knees. Hehe. She began her singing career in Australia, and the first ever Filipina singing sensation that top the Australian music charts, long before Olivia Newton John and Kylie Minogue; probably Kylie Minogue wasn’t even born yet when Pilita Corrales was singing her heart out to the world. She was proclaimed as the Asia’s Queen of Songs and one of the most idolized actresses in Philippine Cinema in the 60’s and 70’s.

So anyone who is from Lahug, Cebu, should be very proud of your neighbor who became one of the most beautiful women in the world. Yay! (Taga Lahug sad bia ko, aw, dre ra diay tig stayhan sa Lahug hehe ).

• Pilar Pilapil

A Liloan-born Cebuana, who has a very adorable face. If an ordinary man sees her for the first time, it would stun him as though he has been hit by a thunderbolt. hehe. Pilar Pilapil became a beauty queen as Binibining Pilipinas-Universe in 1967, and eventually became a promising young actress, all at the age of 17. She made countless of movies and played different roles in TV tele-novelas. She received two prestigious awards in her acting career for more than 30 years. She is at present serving as a Christian missionary.

• Vina Morales

Who doesn’t know Vina Morales? A petite, cute brunette who emerged out of nowhere to prove a talent that can melt a man’s heart. Born in Bogo, Cebu, as Sharon Garcia Magdayao. After Viva Films offered her an acting and singing contract, she then changed her name to Vina Morales. The rest is history.

She became the goddess of the Philippine movies, a heartthrob to promising new actors, and idol of the Philippine masses. She made a numberless of films and TV soap operas, which includes, The Sarah Balabagan Story, The Flor Contemplacion Story, Campus Girls, Ang Pagbabalik ni Pedrong Penduko, Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum, Maging Sino ka Man, Titser’s Enemy No. 1, among many others. She currently plays the role of Cecilia Altamira-Caceres of ABS CBN soap epara, Nasan ka Elisa?

• Kim Chiu

Now it’s time for modern day celebrities. Kim Chui! Wow, everybody knows who Kim Chiu is. I mean, all Filipinos know these very cute lass. If not, then you must be a monk or a monkey. Haha! Just kidding.

Anyway, Kim Chui was born as Kimberly Sue Yap Chiu in Tacloban City, Leyte, and lived in Cebu before she made it into stardom. Her fame began when she joined the Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition in 2006 and winning it. She then made lots and lots of drama movies, TV sitcoms, soap operas, and variety shows. She is considered now as the most in-demand celebrity in the Philippine show business.

She is one-of –a-kind girl that Warays should be very proud of.

• Shaina Magdayao

If you know Vina Morales, then you also know Shaina Magdayao. Why? Well, because Shaina Magdayao is the youngest sister of Vina Morales. But Shaina was born in Quezon City. Her first TV appearance was from ABS CBN’s children show Ang TV. In year 2000, when she was only 11 years old, her career began in Star Records making a hit song “Sayaw Sweet Lullabye.” After she gained popularity in her singing career as a young girl, she eventually became an actress, playing sweet innocent roles in movies like Tanging Yaman, Ang Tanging Ina, and several TV series and tele novellas. She also models for a variety of different brands in fashion including Bench and other popular women’s clothing’s.

So there you go the most beautiful women of Cebu, or the most beautiful women of Visayas. I should have made ten on the list, but that would be too long a post. Maybe next time. Who else do you want to include? Imelda Marcos? Dulce? Annabelle Rama?
