Is Marco Polo Hotel Still the Tallest Building in Davao?

Ask any Dabawenyo what’s the tallest building in Davao and one would immediately answer, Marco Polo. Well, it’s apparent that this hotel is the first tallest building to had been built in Davao more than a decade ago.

Marco Polo Davao

Marco Polo Davao is a 17-storey building built in 1998 and is located at Claveria Street, Davao City. It’s just in front of Ateneo De Davao University. So it is very easy to locate.

Ahhmm. No, the students of Ateneo don’t live or stay at Marco Polo Hotel. It just so happens that the building is built in front of Ateneo De Davao. Why? Well, I don’t know. Perhaps tourists like to see beautiful Atenean college students when they peek at their room windows. I’m just guessing, you know.

Marco Polo Davao still the tallest?

Anyway, so is Marco Polo Davao still the tallest building in Davao? The answer is no. Since the Abreeza Residences had been built, Marco Polo Davao is not anymore the tallest building in Davao City. The tallest building now in Davao is the LKK Hotel, which has 33 floors, located at Abreeza Residences.

All of these buildings were built by people who had taken classes in auto cad.

Durian Hotel

What about Landco building or Pryce Tower? No. They’re not taller than Marco Polo Davao nor the new LKK Hotel. Durian Hotel? No. Durian Hotel is short. If LKK Hotel is the center player of a basketball team, Durian Hotel is the point guard. hehe. Marco Polo used to be the center. He is now semi-retired. hehe.

So that’s it. If anyone of you landed here searching for the query “What is the tallest building in Davao,” I just hope that I have answered your question. If you want more accurate or detailed answers, you can roam the streets of Davao and look up the sky yourself. You will figure out what’s the tallest building in Davao.

But if still you’re not satisfied with just raising your heads up the sky, you can go directly at the Marco Polo Davao Hotel and measure the height with a tape measure. Then go in LKK Hotel and do the same. Compare the measurement of the two buildings, then alas! You just got the most valuable information in the world about this query because you measure them yourself. Right? Hmmmmmm.

Just like how Albert Einstein measure the number of meters in one kilometer. He didn’t believe in the metric system because when he was asked: how many meters in one kilometer, he answered, “I don’t know. I have to measure it myself. Get it? I hope so. hehehe. Just kiddiiiingggg! But the Eisntein stuff is true. Honest.

That’s all. Hope you learn something from my crappy post. yay. :-)
