No big news flash there, huh? Making a financial mistake by nature means it will cost you, but have you ever considered all the potential mistakes you could make and just how much they could be costing you? We make literally billions of dollars in mistakes every year. I’m not talking about bad financial habits, but about genuine, one-time (hopefully) bad moves. For example:
Penalties and fees on credit card accounts topped $20 billion revcently. Simply missing a payment by one day can trigger additional charges just because of a foul up.
Unclaimed tax refund
Billions go unclaimed each year according to the IRS. Just for the 2011 filing year, the IRS is still holding over $1.3 billion. While not necessarily a “foul up” in the classical sense, failing to claim money that is owed to you is definitely a mistake. Continue reading →
The best CPA networks and affiliate paying sites have enough affiliate offers as well as affiliate marketing options to make their head spin. Most affiliate businesses have a wish list longer than Santa Clause’s to choose affiliate marketing strategies from:
pay per view (PPV)
pay per click (PPC)
cost per action (CPA)
Rebill / free trial
real time bidding exchanges
As time progresses, many affiliate networks may have already found that several of these techniques to promote an affiliate offer have become outdated. Now affiliate programs have the ability to reset the hands of time and put their affiliate network in front of fresh eyes – marketing to India.
There’s a new show premiering this spring and I see the preview everywhere I go. The show is called Awake and it’s about a gentleman who suffers a tragic accident. When he wakes up his wife is alive and his son is dead; when he puts his head down to sleep he wakes up again and son is alive and his wife is dead. I REFUSE to watch this show or any part of it. I lived that for almost two weeks.
My dad had a nasty fight with aggressive lung cancer. He kept working until the weekend he passed away, and my mom and I did everything possible in supporting him to make sure that could happen. We made sure he lived the life he wanted to the very last. My dad died on his own terms, at home, surrounded by his family. The last thing he told me was that he loved me, and he was proud of me, and couldn’t imagine being anything but.
When I began blogging, I had never even read a blog. I had no writing skills and I didn’t know I had anything worthwhile to say (sadly, I still lack both) but I knew that some things need to be said without being connected to the official school website, with a blog you can have the discussions with people from all over the world. This is the real benefit to school teachers who blog, or use Twitter, or participate in any type of Social Media.
Now, I have been speaking with a number of schools and education organisations this week about how blogs and social media can help them share knowledge, learn from others and develop a community.
But before I could explain any of that I had to show the difference between a website and a blog. Continue reading →
I’m sure that there are some people out there who believe that happiness is something out of their control, and others who think that it is something we have to fight long and hard for to obtain. In other words, it’s a personal journey we all must take internally to get there.
Unfortunately, in this day and age, the number of people suffering from clinical depression is frightening in itself. It’s quite ironic how we, as humans, are rapidly expanding and developing useful technologies that “connect” people to one another, yet so many people out there feel more alone than ever.
So what does this tell you about the real reason why people these days are stuck in a funk of unhappiness? I think a lot of it has to do with how society puts too much a major emphasis on achievement (academically and financially) and not enough emphasis on enjoying life and being friggin’ happy!! I get so frustrated at how society functions at times.
My name is Patricia, I employed a virtual assistant from the Philippines in order to help me develop my eBook that I would like to offer for sale on Kindle.
It was my plan to produce a 50-page eBook, and it would have already taken me hours, if not days, to design a cover, not forgetting all of the research and writing, formatting and so on.
In my regular life, I am a consultant, and I can charge anything between $150 to $250 per hour depending on my customer, so this gives you an idea the amount of money that I might be earning by doing something else, my regular job.
After a brief hiatus, The Weekly “Tuesday Top 5″ is back (hey, give me a break, business is on fire here!)
Some of the qualities that I value most in business are: clarity and focus. This is the impetus for the Tuesday Top 5: it is my attempt to provide some nuggets for you to use right away. If you have noticed from my prior posts, I am a very action oriented person. Having something clear and concise to work with does wonders for my psyche.
Many entrepreneurs start their businesses part time. They work a full time job and run their business at night, from home and through email and cell phone calls during the workweek. What I want to do is to give some practical guidance that will help part-time entrepreneurs be more productive so they can drive revenues higher and fire the boss once and for all.
As quickly as social media and the internet is changing, it’s no secret that news changes just as quickly. A news story can go viral within a day if it’s swapped between social media mediums as quickly as some have. Kind of like how Ted Williams’ story transformed him from homeless into overnight success story in…well…overnight!
So it makes sense that when something is going viral or when something is trending on Twitter or Google and when you see something being retweeted or shared constantly, it’s a good idea to jump on that story while it’s hot.
Readers will actually get irate if a popular news source is ‘late’ in reporting a viral news story.
For example, CNN had first reported on Ted Williams about 2 days after it had already gone viral and he had already gotten an offer to appear on The Today Show. There were comments on CNN’s news report that said something along the lines of , “Way to be 2 days behind Facebook, CNN”. Continue reading →
Social media has developed from a simple entity to communicate with friends into a mass communication tool for businesses and individuals alike. There are hundreds of businesses and individuals all looking for the same thing: to be heard.
It’s now become a full time job to comment, reply and communicate with bloggers, vloggers, tweets, FB status messages, forums, articles and so much more. The ways to communicate and get noticed are ever evolving. Even we can get overwhelmed (and we do this on a daily basis)!
So what are the three best ways to engage in order to get noticed?
Twitter used to be simply about tweeting where you were and what you were doing through out the day. Now it’s about @’ing, retweeting and in general conversing. And that’s exactly what needs to be done. It’s perfectly fine to advertise yourself in between @’ing and retweeting, but no one will know you even exist if you don’t get your Twitter name out there. It’s suggested to send a friendly message to new followers. Continue reading →
When you create a new: Blog post, Video, Event. How many people are seeing your new content?
Is it a matter of publish and pray – wait to see if someone just happens to come across your blog or Youtube channel, or do you have a strategy to make sure that your posts and updates are shared in the relevant places to give you maximum visibility and exposure online? Stay with me, and I will explain:
In recent years, internet and distance learning have become very popular. The digital revolution has brought us impressive new chances to fulfill our educational dreams. The advantages of online programs are undisputed, and here are the most important reasons to go after an online degree.
If you do not have a strategy in place to ensure maximum visibility, you are most likely not seeing a whole host of views and interaction happening on your website/youtube channel and not getting seen by the right people, at the right time who are then going to interact with you, share your post with others. And if that is not happening then you are potentially a well-kept secret, instead of a well-known expert. Continue reading →
